SonnyB – a proud black Jacksonville resident says No to defunding the Police

I am a proud black American citizen of this great Nation. I say this from the offset, so that the far left socialist can save their racist accusations to try and shut me down. I have been black all my life. Therefore, this fact gives me the credentials for my article.

This article is in response to the Jacksonville.com column and Black Lives Matter movement brewing in our city. The fake news media and democratic leaders have portrayed the radical, racist, and Marxist BLM movement as mostly peaceful, a summer of love. This notion could not be any further from the truth. If you don’t believe me, just ask the true Americans who reside in the war torn cities governed by democratic officials. I pray that the leadership of Mayor Lenny Curry and Sheriff Mike Williams will step-up and not cower to the BLM antagonizing thugs and protect our businesses, neighborhoods, and innocent law abiding citizens of our community. I say to peaceful protesters, if you do not want to be labeled as a thug, I suggest you dissociate yourself from the BLM organization.

Case in point, if you haven’t seen the attacks on Senator Rand Paul, his family and others leaving the RNC convention in DC, you need to find it, watch it and put yourselves into their shoes. BLM is a mafia like organization supported by: pro- athletes, media, democratic politicians, major corporations, Hollywood, colleges, NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB. These are all intelligent people. They should know by now what type of organization they are giving millions to. We have to see, that this movement was never about a black man being murdered. They only needed a reason to project their Marxist, racist agenda, and who better to use than the always gullible black race.

BLM has been declared as a domestic terrorist organization. They are diabolical, and they are out for blood, and will do anything to bring America to it’s demise. Therefore, we can’t ignore and not take their threats seriously. Mayor Curry and Sheriff Williams need to be vigilant in their actions to help rid our communities of these renegades. I implore our leaders not to follow the prototype of poor democratic leadership seen all across America.

And by the way, just this past weekend BLM was out protesting and harassing people as they were grocery shopping at the Fresh Market on San Jose Blvd. Why should they be allowed to harass people? BLM is here so pay attention.

I disagree with Steve Zona, head of the Fraternal Order of Police, defunding police isn’t successful in any city, especially when there is growing lawlessness across the land.

I digress in response to focus on the Jacksonville.com article, to ask this question. Why are black people always on the side of ignorance? We are the most ill-informed people on the planet, because we don’t search a matter out fully, and we come to conclusions by reading headlines. We form our ideals and mentalities based on false information given by the mainstream media. I believe this ole saying holds true,

“If you want to hide anything from a black person, just put it in a book.”

We don’t have to cut funds of JSO, a necessary entity that deals with crime and violence in our community, especially in the black community. There are federal funds that can be allotted for the purpose of building up the infrastructure of destitute neighborhoods. These are issues your black democratic representatives are supposed to do, make them finally do something for your vote. Black people are like an enigma, I’m black and I can’t figure them out, so I can only imagine what the rest of the world thinks.

Here are a few examples to prove my point:

There are some pictures of Jaguar football players holding signs that say, “F*%# the police, Trust God”. Yes I am confused as well, but I will say this, “Shouldn’t the Jaguars be focused on winning a game?”

This is a quote directly from Jacksonville.com, article entitled, “Saturday drive-in protest demands cuts in JSO budget to help communities in need.” Here is the quote, Called the Call for Justice, it asks the mayor to propose a 25 percent reduction of the sheriff’s office’s proposed budget, and use more of it for communities in zip codes 32206, 32208, and 32209, where homicides are high.”

Where homicides are high? Are you saying, when the police budget is cut and given to the named zip codes, the high homicides will disappear immediately when the money is given? If it’s that easy, I’ll donate towards that cause. I don’t think we realize, it takes a lot of resources and courageous police to deal with violent crime. I have a suggestion for those of you who don’t have a criminal record, sign up to become a police officer and request to work in the zip codes you’re asking JSO budget cuts for.

Herein lies the problem with the black community: We never take responsibility for things we cause. Example: Fatherlessness, teen pregnancy, abortion, black on black homicides, crime, drugs, gang violence, incarceration, illiteracy and school dropout. Did anyone notice, police brutality did not make the list? Because these are all self-inflicted problems that have plagued the black community for decades, governed mostly by black democratic leaders. Does anyone wonder why the problems of the black community never get any better? Well it makes me wonder, as I go straight to the heart of the matter to try and reveal the answer —

Could we be the problem?

Lastly, again, I implore all of the leaders linked to the funding and safety of our city: Mayor Curry, Sheriff Williams, and the city council. We see the trend of the BLM organization in cities across the United States of America. They don’t bring solutions, only chaos and mayhem. I am asking as a tax paying law abiding black citizen of Jacksonville, Florida that you abandon any notion of cutting the budget of JSO and become more proactive with the safety of all citizens antagonized by the BLM movement.
