No room in the schools for Charlie Kirk’s beliefs?

Students in Jacksonville’s government schools have been unable to get turning Point USA clubs started, but others had no problem forming sex-oriented clubs – supported at taxpayer expense.

This shocking information arises from a recent school board workshop about the policy for starting student clubs.

The policy requires students who want a club to get a teacher as sponsor. Apparently, students have been unable to find a teacher willing to sponsor a club aligned with the organization started by the late Charlie Kirk, who was murdered because of his pro-American and Christian beliefs.

At the workshop Board Member April Carney suggested that the policy might be changed to allow someone outside the school system to sponsor clubs on a volunteer basis.

The precedent cited was when students allegedly sought a club for students 11-14 oriented to homosexuality and the transgender fad.

The club easily obtained a teacher sponsor in that case, but the administration also paid someone who was a member of JASMYN to provide “support.”

Moms for Liberty subsequently wrote a letter to the board and superintendent, providing details of the matter and noting that the school system paid $180,000 between 2019-21 for a JASMYN employee, Trinity Baker, to support after-school student clubs.

The letter said “Moms for Liberty Duval has been told for years that all student clubs must be student-led. However, we have concerns that this practice is “in name only…”

It said a teacher at Landon Middle School delivered the message below while standing in front of a classroom door with decorations celebrating Marsha P. Johnson — a transvestite/transgender activist, member of the Gay Liberation Front, co-founder of STAR, (Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries), and sex worker.

“Knowing that I would have the full backing of the district office, including our board members and superintendent, not to mention my own administration team, to form a Gender and Sexuality Alliance on campus is an incredible feeling.”

The current policy dates from the time the board had a liberal majority, and boys were allowed in girls’ bathrooms. Since then, voters have returned the board to normalcy.

If the current policy in the government schools is to pay to support clubs that honor queers, drag queens and whores, it is difficult to understand why clubs can’t be formed to support this exceptional nation and its traditional values as well.
