Immediately after Matt Gaetz called for McCarthy to vacate his seat, Eye reached out to Rep. Rutherford for his thoughts. He was pretty furious and you can find his response here. https://eyeonjacksonville.com/local-congressman-unhappy-with-rebellious-colleagues/
After a few days you would think he would have settled down a bit and realized the world wasn’t going to end but instead, in his weekly newsletter he doubled down on his comments and said,
“Rep. Gaetz is driving our nation toward the brink of another government shutdown, all for clicks and cash and a boost in his national profile. His disrespect for his colleagues, this institution, and the people we serve is a clear reflection of his lacking fitness to serve in Congress and has made him President Biden’s greatest ally.”
Wow. Don’t you wish we could have seen this anger from Rep. Rutherford when the J6 people were thrown in a DC jail and horribly mistreated? And…they are still sitting there waiting for a trial. We asked him to intervene to at least demand they be treated as a human being. His response was, “Their attorney will have to do that”.
Other congressmen did show up and speak out but the one who was our Sheriff and always wanted his prisoners treated with respect, didn’t go to bat in DC for them. I could never understand why he didn’t help with his voice as a former Sheriff. It didn’t make sense and we decided it was because he had forgotten his roots and was now entrenched in DC politics. Maybe his response to the Gaetz deal was also because he had forgotten where he came from?
The chatter after the initial shock of Matt Gaetz’ call to vacate the chair has turned to more thoughtful dialogues about the situation.
Many of us were shocked at first but after thinking it through, we realized our country needed a good punch in Congress’ stomach. Accountability has been nil and void and it is unfortunate a Republican – Kevin McCarthy – had to be the one they used to finally set accountability in motion. If only they would start doing that with Democrats and one low hanging fruit would be the congressman who pulled the fire alarm to create chaos. He should be held accountable and thrown in the DC jail with the other J6 prisoners. Fat chance of that happening!
I could go on and on about how we feel about this and instead I’ll ask our readers to listen to Greg Kelly’s monologue about the Gaetz/McCarthy situation. It is FANTASTIC. The best ever and I hope Congressman Rutherford will listen too.
By the way – Greg Kelly isn’t just a journalist. He served in the military as an attack pilot in the United States Marine Corps. He specialized in flying the AV-8B Harrier jet. During his military service he amassed 158 aircraft carrier landings and flew over Iraq in Operation Southern Watch, enforcing the United Nations-imposed “No-Fly Zone.” He was also embedded with the U.S. Army’s 3rd Infantry Division, 2nd Brigade. He was the first television reporter to deliver live pictures of U.S. forces infiltrating Baghdad, as well as exclusive reports of the storming of Saddam Hussein’s presidential palace.
He knows what war looks like and he really knows what leadership should look like. Watch his monologue where he points out the week and arrogant leadership of Kevin McCarthy and how Matt Gaetz is a true leader. Enjoy!
One response to “Kevin McCarthy: Show me a good loser and I’ll show you a loser”
WOKV Talking Head, Mark Kaye, made some illuminating remarks about McCarty and Gaetz, remarks that recall events most people never new about and of those who did . . . forgot.
However we look at it, a shake up has come . . . question is whether we will respond in the “same old, same old” manner (which is what we see most right now) or are we going to take this moment and make it a Winston Churchill moment.
Winston Churchill became Great Britain’s PM after the establishment appeasement had let Adolph Hitler lose on Europe. Churchill was the only man Hitler feared . . . and it turns out for good reason.
Today we have the same sort of appeasing establishment controlling Washington D.C. We have the attackers that are the Democrats, their politburo mob media, and their para-military groups like BLM and ANTIFA . . . and we have the establishment appeasers in the persons of establishment Republicans who prefer to lose with style than win bloodied and scarred. (listen to Tucker’s interview with Victor Davis Hanson on this very same media site)
Kaye was very clear to point out that Jim Jordan has qualities and a backbone much akin the British Bulldog. And those attributes are becoming more important given our border crisis, our inflation, our loss of stature on the world stage that threatens global peace, and most recently the attack by Hamas on Israel that is nothing but a series of war crimes.
Time for our elected officials (public servants or politicians?) to unwad their panties and recognize that, however this upheaval came, it is a spectacular opportunity to take back America for its people, its principles, its very existence.
