Courage Over Crown: North Florida Pageant Winner Refuses to Compromise on Definition of ‘Female’

In a bold stand that’s making national headlines, 2025 Miss North Florida winner Kayleigh Grace Bush has forfeited her title rather than sign a Miss America contract she says violates her values and the truth about womanhood. The 24-year-old University of Florida graduate and strong Christian conservative says she could not, in good conscience, agree to language that redefines “female” to include individuals who have undergone male-to-female surgeries.

Bush’s refusal came after reading a clause in the official Miss America contract requiring contestants to accept a broad definition of “woman” that conflicts with Florida’s laws and her deeply held beliefs. After she politely objected, she was stripped of her crown.

Now represented by Liberty Counsel, Bush is fighting back—not for the title, but for the truth. Her story is resonating with parents, young women, and faith-based communities across the country who are increasingly concerned that biological reality is no longer reality.

This isn’t just a pageant dispute—it’s a defining moment for women.
