Florida CFO Blaise Ingoglia is not talking politics here.
He is talking about something much simpler: using taxpayer money well.
In this short video, Ingoglia points to the kind of government spending increases that should get every taxpayer’s attention. Jacksonville should be paying attention, too.
For years, taxpayers have been told that bigger budgets, higher fees, and rising property taxes are simply the cost of running a growing city.
But that raises a fair question:
Is government growing because Jacksonville is growing — or is government growing because government always finds a way to grow?
Families and small businesses do not get to operate that way. They have to make choices. They have to prioritize. They have to live within a budget.
Government should be held to the same standard.
Every dollar government spends first comes from someone who earned it. That money comes from household budgets, retirement savings, small businesses, and families already trying to keep up.
Ingoglia’s message is a good reminder: accountability is not partisan. Fiscal discipline is not political. Respecting taxpayers should be the bare minimum.
Jacksonville taxpayers are watching.
And they are asking the right question:

the issue here is this: not one government entity local, statewide or nationally runs it like a business. People are a little exhausted from this mismanagement of our taxpayers dollars and we have the right to point this out. Thanks for your comments
