Keeping your Eye on JEA is a big deal – just ask Californians!

California wildfires

Californians are living in a horror movie and their utility and politics are to blame.

The news is reporting … due to the effects of “Climate Change” and the possibility of sparking fires, the electric grid managed by PG&E has been shut down. Millions will go without electricity because the utility simply hit the shutdown button.

And it appears politics might be playing a major role in this electrical shutdown.

Here’s why.

PG&E is under court protection for bankruptcy due to the lawsuits they are battling in regards to the California fires of 2017 and 2018 where they were blamed for the fires. It was assumed it was their fault because they were not prepared for Climate Change and the effects it was having on their power system.

Republican State Sen. Jim Nielsen, (yes there are a few Republicans in California) said in a statement that the shutoff is “unacceptable and he believes the decision to shutdown the grid was to protect PG&E from liability.”

Millions are going without power and those living there are feeling the effects of left wing politicians who have not addressed the underlying issue of their fires — simple maintenance of their land! Instead they blame climate change and the mismanagement of the utility —

and the people are caught in the cross-fire – literally.

Rep. Jim Nielsen said this is what a third world country looks like. Homes without power, electric cars will not work, gas pumps will not either, retail establishments closed, schools dismissed until whenever and no end in sight for the people of California. It’s a disaster!!

When politicians get involved in our electricity and in our water (don’t forget JEA manages and provides our water too) — we are at their mercy and at the hands of those who can shut it off whenever they want to.

We encourage you to do your research, pay attention to the politics at JEA, and be aware that this too could happen to us – to any city that gives too much power to politicians where they can wield that power anyway they choose.

Check out this article at The Federalist and learn that shutting down the lights was the plan all along!

Never take your Eye off those who serve you. Sometimes they are being served too — by power hungry brokers with incentives that serve them and not you. It happens. Pay attention friends.

Who wants to live in a third world country — or California — same thing.

UPDATE:  More reason to wonder what is really going on with the blackouts in California.  Reports are now coming in that the utility executives partied the night before the blackouts.  You can’t make this stuff up.  Read more here: https://www-sfchronicle-com.cdn.ampproject.org/c/s/www.sfchronicle.com/business/amp/PG-E-gas-employees-wined-and-dined-just-before-14512194.php
