If a story in the liberal media is about culture, be wary

Truth has no bearing when it comes to the culture wars that are raging in Florida, as well as the other 49 states.

This week, the Democrat media made up a story and went wild with it, spreading it across the globe.

It sought to portray an excellent charter school in Tallahassee as being run by a bunch of illiterate yahoos. This, of course, could come straight out of the playbook of the teacher unions, advocates of government schools and major funders of the Democrat Party.

It was nonsense.

The story in the Associated Press version is that the Tallahassee Classical School forced the principal to resign because of a lesson in which an image of the 16th century masterpiece by Michelangelo called David was shown.

Barney Bishop is chairman of the board of the school, and the former head of Associated Industries. He had no comment for Eye on Jacksonville, saying a law firm now is speaking for the school. But on his Facebook page Bishop called the media depiction of the events a false narrative spread by inaccurate reporting.

Referring to the David sculpture, he said, “As no time have we viewed that work of art as pornographic.”

He said the principal had exhibited poor performance on three occasions recently and was asked to resign.

The principal has been quoted as saying that she never told reporters that a parent called the lesson “pornographic,” which is how the tale was spun in some of the media.

After the uneducated liberals on The View TV show mangled the story – calling the school’s administrators “child abusers” — the mayor of Florence, Italy invited the school’s principal to come to the city and see the statue.

Tallahassee Classical is a liberal arts school of about 400 students that highlights the achievements of Western Civilization, which is hated by liberals.

Another reason the story was misreported is that it offers a counter-narrative to the fact that liberals have been defending pornography in the government schools. Bishop said the Epoch Times was one of the few media outlets to report the story accurately.
