Hot stuff to be included in your weather forecast

Predictably, the liberal TV station News4Jax is joining the ranks of climate alarmists in a propaganda campaign to promote the idea that humans are burning up the planet.

The station announced it is “partnering” with other news outlets in the Covering Climate Collaborative. The Guardian calls the organization a “global news collaborative” involving hundreds of media outlets that reach 2 billion people.

“The aim is to create a best-in-class network that will localize and humanize the impacts of rising global temperatures. We hope to also empower residents of our community to take meaningful action,” the announcement said.

Not surprisingly they began the effort with a statement of dubious accuracy.

“The commitment we are devoting to climate stories will hopefully lead to more solutions to combat change,” WJXT Meteorologist Mark Collins said. As an operational meteorologist covering hurricanes on television for over 20 years in Florida, the station’s story said, Collins has witnessed warmer average temperatures and increasing tropical cyclone activity.

Not likely, since temperatures and cyclone activity virtually have been flat for 40 years.

Since the end of a long period of cooling, the Earth began warming in the middle of the 19th century. Average temperatures around the globe have increased about one degree, if the measurements are accurate.

Globalists have been trying for decades to use this fact of one-degree warming to promote a one-world government that would raid the U.S. treasury to “fight” global warming, (and enrich corrupt politicians).

As comments on the News4Jax story indicate, there is considerable skepticism that the warming trend is caused by humans to any great extent, or that human efforts to stop it would be fruitful. The station also aims to address the non-issue of “environmental racism.”

The more extreme proposals would decimate economic growth and reduce the standards of living for billions of people, based on dubious computer models purporting to predict the future.

Nevertheless, it appears that anyone who tunes in to News4Jax from now on to hear its guess about tomorrow’s weather also will get a healthy dose of “global warming” theory.
