I thought it had to be a joke. Jacksonville At Large City Council Group 5 candidate Ju’Coby Pittman is advocating for the city to fund BINGO in senior citizens facilities.
It wasn’t a joke. See the interview here with Ms. Pittman: https://www.actionnewsjax.com/news/local/jacksonville-councilwoman-wants-to-invest-20-000-on-bingo-for-seniors/927833531
So here is how it will go:
- If we are against it, we don’t like Sr. Citizens and we are mean.
- If we are for it, we using taxpayer dollars to fund gambling and we are wasting money.
The answer to this request is simple:
“If you want to help Sr. Citizens play BINGO, go into the community and ask for funds to help make this happen. Community organizing – that’s the way to do this. Surely there is some one, some organization or some group that can pay for this.
If that happens, everyone is happy and we are back to running our government the way it should be run.
$20,000 here.
$20,000 there.
That’s why we are in debt and we can’t fix roads or make the community safe from criminals.
That’s my opinion. What’s yours?
