Florida AG Investigates “Climate Cartel” Over ESG Schemes

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier is taking aim at what he calls the “Climate Cartel” — two powerful international climate groups that push Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) agendas on U.S. companies.

Subpoenas were issued to the Climate Disclosure Project (CDP) and the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), who are accused of using their influence to extract money, force disclosure of proprietary data, and punish companies that don’t fall in line with their climate standards.

Uthmeier says it’s about protecting Florida consumers and companies from what he describes as “radical climate activists hijacking corporate governance.” His office is investigating whether these groups violated antitrust and consumer protection laws.

The ESG movement has become big business — and now Florida wants to know who’s profiting, who’s pressuring, and whether any laws were broken in the name of “saving the planet.”
