“Bring Your Bible to School” day, initiated by Focus on the Family, encourages students to bring their Bibles to school on the first Thursday in October. This year will mark nearly a decade of its existence. What began with 8,000 students participating has grown with almost 800,000 students taking part last year. The organizers are hopeful to see over a million students join the event this year, emphasizing its significance in today’s world.
Emerson Collins, program manager for Bring Your Bible to School Day, believes in the transformative power of this event. He asserts that our culture is in search of truth and healing, and the unchanging truth of Scripture and the healing power of the Gospel can provide just that. By allowing students to take the lead in sharing their faith, Focus on the Family aims to empower young minds and hearts.
Recently we have seen college campuses holding Christian prayer services and baptisms. Watching college students stand for their faith is encouraging and will hopefully boost the courage of high schoolers, middle schoolers and elementary aged children to do the same.
