Scott Wilson: Wrong day to politic, sir!

Scott Wilson, City Council President

Scott Wilson chose Memorial Day to hold a press conference. It was to inform the media of his decision to stick with Tommy Hazouri instead of changing his pledge to one from his own party for the position of City Council President.

That’s his right to do so and to vote any way he pleases. How he responds to those who supported him and the fact that he is a pledged Republican — is to be addressed between them.

What was not his right — was how he used one of the most solemn days of the year in America to act like the big man on campus. To pull a podium out in front of City Hall, send press releases to the media and read his prepared speech shows where his mind was today — on him. Not on those we seek to honor.

There was no need to call for a press conference. He could have easily put it in a press release or simply voted for Hazouri tomorrow night. He could have pulled that podium outside in the morning and done the same thing. Whoever advised him to do what he did today – is not his friend. I can just hear the talk between them, “You have to take a stand. You made a promise. You get out in front of everyone else and show them you are strong. If you do this, the others who have pledged will fall in line. You can be the one to lead the others. Show those Republicans they can’t bully you.”

Whoever told Scott to do this on Memorial Day is not very wise.

If it was his campaign consultant — it goes to show Scott what kind of consultant they are – either dumb, unaware or mean. They blew this one so he will need to keep his eyes sharp because they may blow the race he desperately wants to win.

If it was others on the left such as Tommy Hazouri and his team of supporters. I am sure they promised votes for him for the the Clerk of the Courts position which he is running for. And that goes to show Scott — they do not care about patriotism or honoring the fallen. And that our dear Scott are the people you are siding with tomorrow night.

If it was Scott, big mistake. This day was not about him and his campaign. It was about the lives of men and women who drew their last breath for our freedoms. Freedoms to do what Scott did today — but respectfully on any other day but today. Did Scott not think this through? Evidently not much which sends smoke signals of his common sense meter.

In Scott’s “speech” he spoke of Republicans pressuring him to change his vote. He acted stunned that Republicans who serve in the same party with him — would be so outspoken about his decision. He was shocked and I have a message for Mr. Wilson —

That’s just plain ridiculous. That IS their job.

Since you and some other Republicans will not stand up for the Republican Party platform, then who will?

I’ll tell you who will — those who called you, wrote you, spoke with you, begged you, prayed for you and asked for you to reconsider. Do NOT ever think that is wrong. These are the good guys and gals who support the platform and hold dear the values they pledged to. God bless each and every one of them who took time from their lives to stand up for what they believe in!! We need more like them in government.

So we heard you Scott. You’re voting for Tommy Hazouri. At this point, no one gives a damn how you vote.

You stunk up Memorial Day.

You made it all about you and that cushy job as Clerk of the Courts.

You tried to shame good Republicans while you support a Democrat.

You showed your true colors and they are not red, white and blue.

What a shameful stunt, Scott. Shamefully stinky!

That’s my opinion.

(To our followers — please forgive me for sending this post on this day. I am so rip-roaring mad at how Scott decided to politic today and I just could not hold it in.)
