Using the Governor for photo shoot is a sign of Mayor’s race heating up

Governor Ron DeSantis was in Jacksonville yesterday announcing his plan for gas tax relief. Good job Governor! (Luv the Guv!)

Standing behind our Governor was the President of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, Daniel Davis. Mr. Davis is said to be the “anointed one” for Mayor by the power brokers of our great city.

Seeing Mr. Davis standing there supporting this gas tax relief should have been a humbling and humiliating experience for him. I hope it was. As the leader of the chamber he supported Mayor Curry’s large local gas tax increase just a few months ago. That gas tax increase was not popular with the community and it passed anyway thereby affecting the poorest among us at the gas pump.

Our Mayor’s office has led the way for one tax increase after another and Mr. Davis has been right there with him.

We can only hope that the next Mayor will be more like our Governor and will have empathy and creative ideas for his constituents instead of support for pet projects of big donors.

The Mayor’s race is on, friends. Start your research now. Remind yourself that any Democrat in the race has decided to stay with a party that supports deep and wide infringements on your Constitutional rights and should not be trusted or hired as our Mayor. As for any Republican in the race, dig deep and expose the RINOs who use photo shoots for their campaign.

Let’s be wise this time around. Let’s make sure that the next Mayor is put through a tough political campaign by We the People. Make them sweat and see who has a heart for the city and a business mind that surpasses the others.

It’s time to change how we do business in Jacksonville. Electing a Mayor for the people and not their big donors will be a nice change.
