Rutherford roughed up secretary who was just impeached

U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who is being impeached in Congress, was raked over the coals by U.S. Rep. John Rutherford, R-Jacksonville, for giving false information about illegal entries into the United States.

After Mayorkas claimed during a House committee hearing last week that 630,000 people had been deported after crossing the open border last year, Rutherford said, “That’s not the number!”

Citing the government’s own published numbers, Rutherford said the actual number was 142,580.

“You inflate these numbers and it’s aggravating to me when you do that,” Rutherford said.

Rutherford said 2.4 million people had crossed the border illegally recently, more than four times the number during the entire four years of the Trump administration.

There are 1.2 million people in America illegally who are on a list to be removed and Rutherford asked Mayorkas why they were still in America.

“Your immigration policy is in chaos,” he said.

Rutherford told Eye on Jacksonville, “This is an invasion and Biden can stop it any time he wants.”

As an example of the danger posed to Americans, Rutherford cited the murder last year of a Jacksonville man by one of the invaders, who was sentenced to 60 years in prison for the slaying.

After Mayorkas dodged one question, Rutherford muttered, “You can’t get a straight answer out of this guy.”

All Mayorkas had to say was that public safety and national security were high priorities for his department.

Mayorkas has a history of lying. In 2021, Mayorkas condemned the actions of border agents accused of whipping Haitian immigrants, based on a photograph. Later it was revealed he already knew at the time the charge was false.

Mayorkas was impeached in February on charges he has refused to enforce the law. It is the first time in nearly 150 years a Cabinet secretary has been impeached.

People from all over the world, including China, Afghanistan and the Mideast are streaming across the open borders. Although the media and government try to hide the facts, many Americans have been raped, robbed and killed by the invaders.

Thousand of Americans have died from fentanyl, one of the drugs flowing freely across the border during the Biden administration.

Only when states began sending invaders to cities run by Democrats did the administration begin pretending it cared about the crisis.
