Remembering the Fallen: Jacksonville Memorial Day Observance Set for May 25

Before heading off to cook outs, the beach or other Memorial Day fun, Jacksonville residents are invited to pause and remember the true meaning of Memorial Day. The City of Jacksonville will host the annual Memorial Day Observance on Monday, May 25, at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Wall, 1145 E. Adams Street downtown.

Pre-ceremony music and activities begin at 8:00 a.m., with the official ceremony starting at 8:30 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Hosted by the City’s Military Affairs and Veterans Department and the Wounded Warrior Project, the observance will honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country through patriotic music, ceremonial presentations, and wreath presentations.

The Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Wall honors more than 1,700 local fallen heroes and stands as one of the nation’s most significant military memorials.

More information is available through the City of Jacksonville.
