Duval County School Board Members: Do you care if teachers are having sex with children?

As the wave of teacher-student sex incidences continues across the nation, we await the answer to a question we asked last May about such incidents in Jacksonville’s public schools.

Since we asked the question, at least two such incidents have been reported in the local media. As yet, we don’t know if school officials are cognizant of them or not.

In August, Eye on Jacksonville paid $107.60 to buy the information, which is a matter of public record. We were advised it might take a month to compile the information, which school officials should have at their fingertips.

Recently we were advised that someone was on vacation, so it might take a while longer.

It’s almost as if the school administration did not want to release the information.

Nor have School Board members shown the slightest interest in learning whether schoolteachers are having sex with children in the schools.

Readers who think this is an important subject might want to call their representative on the School Board and ask for the information, rather than waiting on our request to be answered.

Maybe you will get it free.

CALL TO ACTION:  Contact your School Board Member and the Superintendent and ask them why they haven’t furnished Eye on Jacksonville the report we paid for.  If you would like to let us know how they respond, please comment on this site.  Thanks!
