Business owners Grinched by local and national government “leaders”

Local business owners are flipping mad at the hypocrisy of governmental “leaders” in Jacksonville and in DC. Eye was contacted by a couple of business owners who wanted to express their anger AND wanted to remain anonymous. Anonymous because they are fully aware if you pound on the government, they come pounding back at you with fines, over regulations and harassment.

Sad. State. Of. Affairs.

One of our followers was appalled at the hypocrisy of the “handout” given to local businesses under the CARES act for COVID 19. Evidently 875 businesses received $2,000. Mayor Curry was delighted and tweeted the City did their part to keep businesses open and citizens employed. Eye’s follower stated, “The hypocrisy of our Mayor is shameful. He goes to bat for a billionaire’s dream – Lot J – to the tune of investing $218.2 million of our taxpayer dollars and he thinks $2,000 is going to save local small businesses. It’s aggravating and shows our city government’s priorities are for special interests and buddies of the Mayor. Small businesses are struggling locally and all he can do for us is $2,000 and continue mask mandates. He is not a representative of the people and out of touch with those he is suppose to represent.”

Another Eye follower related similar thoughts AND added in the COVID 19 relief bill passed by Congress yesterday. A crumb of $600 will be “given” to the people of the United States while special interests rake in millions. Some of those millions are going to:

  • $10 Million in gender studies for Pakistan
  • $4 Billion to Bill Gates Global Health Plan – (another billionaire getting billions from us)
  • $453 Million to Ukraine
  • $33 Million for Venezuelan Democracy Programs (there is no democracy in Venezuela)
  • and a list of other ridiculous amounts of millions of dollars sent outside America while We the People bow down in thankfulness for a $600 crumb.

President Donald Trump called the bill a disgrace last night. You can view his thoughts here: Trump Demands Congress Increase Covid-19 Stimulus Checks from $600 to $2,000

Senator Rick Scott gets a Wink from Eye and local business owners for taking a stand against this bill. He released the following statement:

Early this afternoon, we were finally provided the text of the combined $1.4 trillion omnibus spending bill and $900 billion COVID relief bill. It is almost 5,600 pages long and we’re expected to vote on it tonight. Who in their right mind thinks that this is a responsible way of governing?

This crisis has devastated American small businesses and American workers and I support many of the COVID-related provisions to boost small businesses, prevent further layoffs and enhance unemployment assistance – provisions that are necessary because of the recklessness of the Chinese Communist Party and the overzealous shutdowns by politicians here in America who do not know what it is like to struggle for money or for work. I’m also glad this package does not include state bailouts, which I’ve been fighting for months, and makes reforms to the Federal Reserve, which provides further protections to ensure taxpayer dollars are not wasted.

“But, in classic Washington style, vital programs are being attached to an omnibus spending bill that mortgages our children and grandchildren’s futures without even giving members a chance to read it. We are not spending money we have in the bank or anticipate we will collect in taxes. Washington doesn’t seem to understand that new spending today will be paid for by increased federal debt and result in a tax increase on families down the road. We have to stop operating this way; there is no excuse for the way Washington treats the American taxpayers. I’ve repeatedly voted against enormous and wasteful spending bills. The easy route is simply to go along as Congress continues to do harm to future generations of Americans, but I will not be a part of it.”

Rep. John Rutherford took a different approach to this bill and voted for it. You can read his thoughts from an interview with Sr. Editor Lloyd Brown here: Rutherford defends the virus relief bill passed by Congress

It appears to the people out here in America that something is drastically wrong with our government and it needs a complete overhaul. The overhaul needs to include an educational program for Congress about their responsibilities and who they report to. That education is simple – read The Constitution instead of reading talking points by special interests who later on give money to their PACs.

Americans have seen Communist rule in America this past year and it is not pretty. It needs to come to an end or more and more local businesses will close and we will rely on central planners for our goods. It will be given to us according to our needs and the government will decide our needs — as they have done this past year. For a little history lesson on Communism check this out: Communism

Local business owners have lost faith in our Mayor and in those who represent us in Congress. They want and demand a better use of their hard earned money they give them by way of taxes. As one Eye follower stated, “I just want them to get their “expletive” together and stop acting like fools. We are worn out from their over-reaching mandates and handouts. We just want to be left alone to make a living and be a blessing to our customers.”

We will end with this quote from The Grinch:

“Give me that! Don’t you know you’re not supposed to take things that don’t belong to you? What’s the matter with you? You some kind of wild animal?” The Grinch

America belongs to We the People and the Grinches in Government need to stop being wild animals and return Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness back to the people.

And if they don’t, the townspeople should do it for themselves.
