Media giant announces its partnership with the U.N.

Gannett, the largest media company in America and owner of a small local newspaper, has gone full Far Left, aligning itself with most of the worldwide socialist agenda.

At the same time, it is pledging to produce objective, truthful, fact-based journalism.

Gannett made its announcement here: https://www.gannett.com/sustainability/

The tiny staff at the local paper probably won’t know the difference. They have been liberal for decades, even preceding the paper’s 180-shift to that direction in its opinion pages some 15 years ago.

They would have no choice anyway even if they wanted to pursue objective journalism, which was the goal of all newspapers as recently as the middle of the previous century.

The new Gannett statement published here makes it clear.

The document states: “Gannett management will make environmental protection integral components of its operations. This policy requires Gannett employees to participate in and accept responsibility for achieving the following commitments: Promoting environmental awareness among the communities we serve through our trusted and robust climate and science reporting.”

In other words, they are to be the voice of the alarmists on the global warming scare. Contrary facts and opinions will be suppressed or ignored.

It is not a coincidence that this also is a core belief of the Democrat Party and its Green New Deal. Many of the Party’s other goals are embraced by Gannett as well, such as ending inequality.

That goal is sheer nonsense, of course. Nowhere, not even in full-blown communist countries, has inequality ever been achieved, nor will it ever be. The central tenet of communism/socialism/fascism and all their lookalikes is the elimination of individual freedom. Once that is achieved, those in power are rich and everyone else is not.

To that end, Gannett also has become – it announces proudly – a full-fledged partner with the United Nations.

“Guided by (the UN’s 2015 seventeen Sustainable Development Goal), it is now up to all of us, governments, businesses, civil society, and the general public to work together to build a better future for everyone,”

In the past, newspapers worked to build a better future for everyone by reporting the news objectively and presenting opinions separately. Gradually, it moved away from that and newspapers became advocates for a Brave New Socialist World.
