It’s an unfair fight, but a weak and ineffective liberal Democrat politician has started one with a bright, conservative member of the School Board.

State Rep. Angie Nixon said:

“Shame on April Arena Carney for tagging right-wing extremists that are known to target and harass people, shame on you for activating them to come after a constituent.”

Carney fired back:

“I frankly don’t give a damn what Angie Nixon thinks.

“While I am focused on school improvement and student safety, Angie Nixon wears the title of ‘Most Inconsequential State Legislator’ with pride and has done nothing for Jacksonville. While I called for unity at our hostile board meetings to heal, Angie fuels false narratives with her divisive rhetoric to harm.

“Angie’s a bully who slanders anyone who doesn’t agree with her under the guise of diversity, equity and inclusion. Whatever she runs for next, I’ll be standing proudly by her opponent.”

Boom!

Actually, Nixon has said on Facebook that she doesn’t plan to run for re-election in House District 13. If she does not, she will retire with a record of little or no accomplishment, other than to mouth radical leftist views and vent about race.

If she runs for another office, it will be on her record — or lack of one.

She serves on no important committees. She sponsored seven bills in the Florida House this year. All died in committee. The previous year she sponsored eight bills. Seven died. The other was withdrawn.

Carney, on the other hand, has become a force on the School Board since being elected in 2024, and currently is vice chairman.

Nixon’s original complaint came from a fairly innocuous comment Carney made on a Facebook post. No one knows why Nixon chose to start a quarrel. But predictably, local liberal media made it appear Nixon was waging a righteous cause.

Nixon’s partisan bluster serves only to show how Democrats tend to prefer insults rather than constructive dialogue — as advocated by Charlie Kirk, who was murdered for trying to find common ground with others.

For those who don’t know them, the differences between the two women show in their social media posts.

Carney’s Facebook page mostly is about family, faith, and the good in America.

Nixon’s Facebook page consists largely of angry rants about how bad America is and criticizing people who have become wealthy. Here is her advice for accumulating wealth:

“BABY NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU TRY, YOU AIN’T GON BE NO LONG TERM MILLIONAIRE UNLESS YOU LIE, STEAL & HURT PEOPLE.”

Presumably, she believes that’s how people such as Barack Obama and Oprah Winfrey became rich.
