Liberals managed to turn a routine meeting of the Duval Public School Board into a clown show this week.
It was so bad that the vice chairman of the board was escorted home by the police.
One event that sparked the embarrassing debacle was the removal of a teacher who had vented her hate by chortling publicly over the murder of Charlie Kirk. Her supporters tried to make this a “free speech” issue.
But the teacher, Hope McMath of Douglas Anderson School, may have her teaching certificate yanked by the Florida Dept. of Education for her online outburst.
The commission of education has found probable cause to take her license, asserting she is “guilty of gross immorality or an act involving moral turpitude” and other unprofessional actions.
One violation stems from her post saying “Karma is a bitch” after Kirk’s murder.
In a Facebook post Sept. 10, McMath also referred to City Council Member Rory Diamond as the “grand wizard,” accusing him of using “racist dog whistles” and calling his actions “gross and dangerous.”
Liberal media have tried to make McMath a martyr from the start, labeling her a “well-known social activist” and those who were horrified at her remarks as “conservative.” (There are no “liberals” in the media lexicon and “conservative” always is a pejorative.)
There were 76 speakers during the public comment portion of the board meeting. All but a few were from the Far Left and they had held a pep rally in the parking lot before marching into the board meeting.
Their rants and raves are all over Facebook. It’s a line up of crazy clowns and you don’t want to miss the show.
It is extremely likely that all vote exclusively for Democrats and part of their rage is that a majority of the board members are conservative, working to make sure the government schools educate, not indoctrinate.
The leftists also got their knickers in a twist because four board members wore pink shirts in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
But their support of hate speech was appalling although, in some cases, comical.
The most cringe worthy was a guy in a cowboy hat who seemed to think he was Taylor Swift. He got up and “sang” what obviously was a self-composed melody titled “Free Speech.” He was so proud of it that he posted it on YouTube but Eye on Jacksonville, as a public service, will not link to it, and we confidently predict it will not win a Grammy.
Then there was a guy who thought he was Greta Thunberg. “Shame on you,” he repeated about a dozen times. (The source of their shame was that they didn’t pay teachers what this greedy Greta thought they should.)
Board member April Carney said that no one, regardless of political party, should celebrate someone’s death, as liberals have done. Yasmina White interrupted Carney with an unhinged outburst. She refused to stop yelling and had to be removed by the police.
After the meeting, the chief of the board’s police department escorted Carney to her car and followed her home.
The Duval demonstration isn’t unique, of course. Across the nation, liberals have in effect endorsed political violence by celebrating the death of Kirk, who was an American and a Christian.
The great irony is that it was Kirk who supported free speech and civil discourse, not his despicable detractors.
