Shortly after posting this article on Eye on Jacksonville’s Twitter account, we found our account suspended.
Executive Privilege: The rise of the dark side in Jax politics
We did not hear from Twitter as to why our account was suspended. We simply went there to post something and — we were unable to do so.
We find this very interesting because all we do is post our stories and we do not share other stories from other sources or post pictures of anything that would go against Twitter’s standards.
We can only assume that someone who doesn’t like this article or Eye in general could have reported us to Twitter. Someone who might know how social media works and how they can use it to target people or entities they don’t like or wish to take down.
Whatever the case may be, we will be meeting with Constitutional attorneys to discuss this suspension. Eye on Jacksonville reports news worthy articles about local politics. It is our First Amendment right to do so and we support free speech for all – including those who do not agree with ours. It’s the American way!
We formed Eye to promote integrity and transparency and expose corruption and cronyism in our local city. We believe our mission is needed and we will continue to do our work and shine a light on the good and the bad. It’s how to make great cities — greater!
We will keep our followers posted on the developments of this first amendment attack and in the meantime, please go to www.eyeonjacksonville.com and sign up for our newsletters. Share this story with your friends and ask them to sign up too.
We are staying the course and will continue to do the work we do.
May God bless America and please God — Jacksonville sure could use an extra dose of blessing on our beloved hometown.
