I had lunch with my Grands yesterday. We tried one place that was shut down and had posted this sign on their door, “We can’t operate with these restrictions and make money. We will be back when it makes sense for us to be in business.”
Then we went to another restaurant and we were immediately told to we had to wear our masks while walking around the restaurant but could have them off at the table.
Ridiculous and not their fault. They are following local guidelines. I was not happy because of the stupidity of the mandate only because it meant that as long as you sit at your table, you are safe from COVID19.
My anger was surging at the lingering effects of back and forth, all over the place medical protocols about masks. 200 doctors say wear them and another 200 say do not. One minute the Surgeon General and Dr. Fauci say it’s silly to wear them and the next minute, a totally different story. Whatever the truth is — you can’t find it to save your soul or the soul of America.
And then my precious grandson sitting next to me in the COVID19-free booth looked up at me and said…
Dear God: Help us to be pure and innocent as the little children who live with us. Soften the hard hearts of madmen in the streets and in Congress. Our children deserve better than this. May all parents stand up and protect their children from the ravages of the bad guys who proclaim to have the best interest of children at heart. And…let these precious children be safe while adults play politics with their lives. May we find a way to change America’s heart and save her from destruction. Amen
