City Council Considers Road Change: In honor of POW/MIA

A name change for New World Avenue near Cecil Field is being considered.   Bill 2018-124 would rename the road as POW-MIA Memorial Parkway if it is approved by the City Council. The name change would take place on July 1.

The bill was supported by the 19 Members of the Cecil Field POW/MIA Memorial, Inc. to ensure that the brave soldiers were not forgotten.

This is a nice gesture and would keep history front and center for all who drive along the road.  It’s the least we can do for these brave men and women.

If you are interested in supporting this nonprofit, go to: www.powmiamemorial.org. There are many opportunities to help and become involved.

We give this bill a wink and hope the City Council will approve this name change.  Voting on this bill will happen sometime in April.  Go to our Take Action tab and contact your city council member about this great WINK idea.
