Myth making is an art at which the media excels

Democrats never desist doing what they do best – dividing Americans.

Their method of separating the nation into warring tribes, much like the ones that squatted on the North American land for millennia, is like a persistent drumbeat in the Democrat media.

It cropped up once again recently in a tiny, insignificant local newspaper that once had 10 times the circulation and was read statewide — before it turned liberal.

The liberal message it sought to prop up was the myth of redlining.

This is an anti-capitalism message which purports that banks refused to give loans to people based on their skin color. It is utter nonsense.

It fails on its own premise. Liberals insist that bankers are cruel, mean, mercenary people who would resort to anything for the sake of profit.

Then, they assert that these people would refuse to earn a profit from someone with a particular skin color.

Why? Money is green.

Another peculiarity of this myth is that even liberal sources such as Wikipedia grudgingly admit redlining was created not by bankers but by the entity liberals worship: the federal government.

Congress enacted a law in 1934, during the height of Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal, that led to banks mapping cities and designating areas of high credit risk. Not surprisingly for that time period, many of the low-income areas considered high risk were populated by people with black skin.

But not all. In Jacksonville, one of the areas “redlined” was Springfield, which was then an area almost entirely populated by people with white skin.

Why would a “white,” blue-collar neighborhood be redlined, unless a majority of its residents had poor credit scores?

The truth is that responsible bankers are cautious about lending their depositors’ money to people who are not likely to pay it back. For that they should be praised.

But everything today is politicized. The survival of the Democrat Party is based on its ability to create, isolate and antagonize grievance groups. Therefore, Americans must be divided demographically at every opportunity.

But Democrats are in a race against time. In Wal-mart the other day I was behind a woman who had white skin and a toddler with dark skin in her cart. Everywhere you see interracial couples.

How will the false Democrat message of black oppression resonate with a child who has one parent with white skin and one with black skin? Which is the evil person, the mother or the father? Those children will not be so easy to divide and conquer.
