Mitch the Turtle has come out of his shell to support DOJ

The Federalist published an article that revealed the underbelly of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s turtle shell where he is calling on Congress to beef up federal law enforcement after the FBI’s raid of Donald Trump and his subsequent arraignment.

Firstly, let’s be clear here, Mr. McConnell is absolutely right. We do need more law enforcement. We need to support our brave men and women in uniform who put their lives on the line to keep us safe. However, I have to ask, where was this enthusiasm for law enforcement during the summer of 2020 when our cities were burning and being looted? Where was Mr. McConnell’s call for more law enforcement then? It seems that his interest in supporting law enforcement only extends to certain political situations.

As for the DOJ, for too long, we’ve seen ideologues within the government use their power to go after political opponents. We need to put a stop to this immediately. It’s un-American, it’s unconstitutional, and it’s downright dangerous.

Now, let’s talk about the charges brought against former President Trump. These charges are nothing more than a political witch-hunt. The Manhattan district attorney has stretched the law to fit his own political agenda. It’s shameful, and it sets a dangerous precedent for criminalizing political opponents.

Even some of Trump’s biggest rivals, like Utah Sen. Mitt Romney, have come out against these charges. Romney called it an overreach and a dangerous precedent. So, let’s be clear, this isn’t just a partisan issue. This is an issue of justice and fairness.

Sure we can use more law enforcement. We need to support our brave men and women in uniform. But, we also need to hold the government accountable when they abuse their power.

But McConnell will never go for that. He’s part of the problem and abuse of power is in his DNA.

It was so nice and quiet without Mitch in the Senate while he healed at home. It sure would be nice if he stayed home so the country can heal from his out of touch policies.

That’s my opinion. What say you?
