When I read the tweet, I thought, “He can’t be serious?”
But he was.
Here you go friends. The Sunday night tweet from the Mayor of Jacksonville, Florida to teachers in Duval County Schools:
Lenny Curry@lennycurry Please get me your classroom needs. I will get it fixed. What is your school, your room and your need?
Lenny Curry@lennycurry Share your school, your class room and your need. E mail me at [email protected] . If your management can’t fix basic needs like air conditioning, We will.
The Mayor of Jacksonville on a Sunday night is tweeting that he will fix the maintenance problems in our schools.
Eye roll and head shaking are necessary after this tweet.
The City of Jacksonville and our School Board are in a “fight” and we, the taxpayers, get to watch it from the sidelines and be used as pawns for political purposes. While the children suffer!
Fact: The Mayor can NOT fix maintenance issues in our schools. The Schools are a separate entity from the Mayor’s office and they are responsible for maintenance issues in school rooms. Not the Mayor. He isn’t responsible and can’t fix these issues.
Where would he get the funds? How many “issues” can he fix if he indeed got the funds from some special “fund” we know nothing about? And how can he bypass the Duval County School Board that is responsible for maintenance issues?
Queston: Who’s in charge in Jacksonville, Florida?
For the Mayor to tweet such nonsense is solely for… drum roll please…
POLITICAL PURPOSES
The Mayor and his Campaign Manager turned Chief Administrative Officer do not know how to turn off Political manipulation and turn on Governance and Leadership.
This tweet is ridiculous and created a firestorm on Twitter. He was called on the carpet for using teachers for political gain and today he looks like a fool for doing so.
We at Eye on Jacksonville are weary of handing out Stinks to our Mayor and this one, friends, stinks to high heaven. We have no choice than to Stink the Mayor!
Note to Mayor Curry: Throw us a bone please. These political moves are killing us. Please stop campaigning and start leading. It’s time! And for heaven’s sake, please get off Twitter and stop embarrassing yourself and us. You are not good at it, sir.
