Don’t Hate the Player Hate the Game

Woke female job seekers in the tech world are clutching their inclusivity pearls after being bulldozed by straight men pretending to be “non-binary” at a major technology conference in Orlando.

The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing, hosted by AnitiaB.org, is a technology conference held at Orlando’s massive Orange County Convention Center every year. This year’s conference was the first time since 2020 the event was in person, so of course it was overcrowded and chaotic. The whole point of the event is for women in tech to find lucrative careers in the industry. Potential applicants and companies from all over the country attend the pricey conference including Amazon, Google and Apple. An in person general admission ticket will set you back $1300.

In an effort to pander to the DEI crowd, organizers of the event made sure to advertise how enlightened they are by proudly welcoming “non-binary individuals” to the women’s conference.

Thousands of people showed up. At one point, it was so crowded, attendees had to wait outside in Orlando’s miserable swamp heat for more than an hour before they could get in the door. So, as you can imagine, people were already on edge.

Once inside, a strange dynamic unfolded. Thousands of men showed up, pushing and shoving to beat out women vying for interviews. Some posts claim “cis-men” were attacking women, rude, hitting on them and cutting long lines to jump ahead of patiently waiting women.

The issue wasn’t these men are taking potential jobs away from real women. The problem is the men are straight.

See, these really super duper smart women in tech have no qualms at all with men pretending to be women, pushing them aside, and taking a job from them, as long as the man “identifies” as a woman. But if a straight man, pretending to be a non-binary man pretending to be a woman, to get ahead in the interview process takes a woman’s spot, that is considered gender infiltration. A big no no in the world of woke.

Thankfully for us, agitated women started posting to the socials to vent their frustration over straight men “misrepresenting themselves.”

Anchal Katyalm is a software development manager at Amazon. She complained on LinkedIn about her experience at the conference. Katyalm posted “It saddens me the see all those cis men attending #GHC23 and misrepresenting their gender’… ‘For all the women and nonbinary people attending, hold your ground & believe in yourself.” Apparently, Amazon’s software development manager doesn’t have time for grammar when expressing outrage over men pretending to be men pretending to be women.

Another upset attendee, posted on LinkedIn: “As a woman who has experienced patriarchic dominance in the tech industry, I hoped the convention would provide a fair chance for me to connect with potential employers.” However, she complained she saw “a significant number of cis-men allies taking opportunities meant for women and nonbinary, a concerning trend that seemed unaddressed by the event organizers.”

Straight men were reportedly wearing name tag lanyards with “he/him” pronouns displaying their cis-gender status without shame. What an outrage!

To calm the masses, the man, who is in charge of the “women’s convention”, took to the stage giving a stern finger shaking to the men “misrepresenting themselves.”

Cullen White, the Chief Impact Officer of AnitaB.org, bloviated, “…it became clear that there are far greater number of cisgender men attending. Simply put, some of you lied about your gender identity when you registered – as evidence by the stacks and stacks of resumes you’re passing out. You did so because you thought you could some here and take space to get a job.’ ‘Some of you stood in line talking to recruiters instead of letting women speak. All of those are limited resources to which you have no right. So let me be perfectly clear: stop right now. Stop.”

What an incredible statement. A grown man lecturing a room full of thousands of adult men, declaring they have no right to be there because they are not sexually confused men pretending to be women to land a job advertised for a woman or a man who thinks he is a woman.

Ya can’t make this stuff up folks.

In a social media post AnitaB.org released a statement claiming this year’s conference saw “an increase in participation in self-identifying males. We are dedicated to bringing structural changes to ensure that GHC continues to be an uplifting experience and provides opportunities for women and non-binary technologists.”

I did a little digging on the organization putting on this political stunt identifying as a job fair. The AnitaB.org is a Marxist woke nonprofit based in California with the stated goal of advancing women in technology. However, their website tells quite a different story.

AnitaB.org puts on the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing tech conference. The language used on its website tells you everything you need to know about the radical group. The conference’s slogan is “The Way Forward.” The front page of the website explains: “The Way Forward is a rallying cry for the tech industry to come together and create a more inclusive, equitable future. The past year’s challenges highlight the urgent need for change, and we all play a leading role in driving that change forward. Thank you to everyone who participated at the GHC 23 the world’s largest gathering of women and non-binary technologists. We are The Way Forward in the tech industry.”

I encourage everyone to check out the 12 Keynote speakers featured on the website. It is a Marxist hodgepodge of ethnically appropriate angry activists, artists, professors, authors, consultants and one global citizen”, none of which are white. It does seem quite the challenge for a group to build a “more inclusive, equitable future” for all women, by excluding the majority of women in this country. Get it? The only way to include is to exclude. Mensa level stuff here.

While looking around the website, I also found this outrageously insane disclaimer regarding this year’s conference. I couldn’t paraphrase. You need to read this in its full glory. Remember, these people are supposed to be very smart, highly educated and degreed tech nerds from prestigious universities around the world, not radical political activists.

The whole point of the disclaimer is to make fun of the people living in Florida, insult the state’s Governor and virtue signal to the world, this group is a card-carrying member of the blatantly racist “anti-racist” movement and is washed in the blood on the alter of our nation’s new state sponsored religion of gender ideology.

“In 2023, we will again host Grace Hopper Celebration in Orlando, Florida, and we will continue to partner with local leaders and community organizations advocating for human rights. This is a difficult decision. We recognize that it is also challenging for many in our community, particularly after elected officials introduced an onslaught of legislation that not only devalues women and non-binary people and, at the intersections, those who live as members of the LGBTQIA+ community but is also aimed at erasing Black history through harmful bills including Stop WOKE. These egregious efforts have led to banned books in schools, making the sharing of almost anything Black a felony, and the removal of the AP African American History course, among other direct challenges to the community’s existence.

In 2023, the constant affront to human dignity in Florida (and many other states) continues. We vehemently oppose the efforts in the state to further erase the identities and dignities of people belonging to intentionally marginalized and excluded groups including Black, Brown, and Indigenous people. We will continue to engage with the local social justice leaders across the state and with more than a thousand members of AnitaB.org supported by our Florida Local Community network to monitor the situation. We are staying vigilant to the conditions on the ground and are dedicated to creating a safe space where ALL are welcome. AnitaB.org is committed to supporting those who are historically excluded from the technology ecosystem wherever they live, work, and create. In 2022, AnitaB.org worked with Equality Florida to raise visibility and awareness at a national and international level of what was happening in Florida. We also donated a portion of the proceeds from GHC 22 registrations to Zebra Coalition and  Florida Access Network—two Florida-based non-profits doing exceptional work.

We have an incredible opportunity to build on that momentum as we head into a critical election year in 2024. We re-commit to contributing to local leaders and organizations working in Florida to create a safe, welcoming space, and we invite you to join us as we chart The Way Forward.”

This might have been marketed as a career fair for women in tech, but at the end of the day, it was a waste of time for real women who were hoodwinked into buying a $1300 ticket from a male organizer claiming to advance women’s careers. This was a political stunt and a money grab. The convention made a mockery of real women and the cause it is claiming to champion. Women will never advance in an industry which elevates an assumed identity over biological reality.

My advice to these women: Don’t hate the player, hate the game
