There’s not a chance in hell Christian Ziegler will retain his seat as head of the Republican Party in Florida but the hypocrisy of the Democrats in calling for his ouster is stunning.

Ziegler is accused of rape, but the case appears to be shaky.

What really is driving the phony furor against him is that he and his wife were spicing up their sex life a bit.

Not the way Bill Clinton did. Or John F. Kennedy, or many other Democrat heroes. But in a way that is not outside the bonds of marriage (another American custom the Far Left doesn’t believe in).

By his own admission, Ziegler and his wife once had sex with another woman included in the mix. It was, in fact, the woman making the rape charge, which makes it even more bizarre.

The gleeful Democrat media portrays this as against the values of the political party Ziegler belongs to. They are especially happy because Ziegler’s wife is a co-founder of a group of concerned parents opposed to pornography in schools and other things Democrats support.

It’s all political theater, of course.

Gov. Ron DeSantis and many other Republicans have called for Ziegler to resign before he is thrown out, but Ziegler is digging in his heels. He may relent, but the damage is done to the conservative, pro-American party.

Republicans should let the three-day story expire on its own. As Ronald Reagan said, “Stay the course.”
