Appealing the health insurance denials

In the U.S., 850 million health insurance claims are denied each year. This has affected us, and it is time to fight back.

The denials are intended to increase the profits of insurance companies. They contract to supply us with health care and medications, but they don’t want to pay when the bill comes due.

Insurance companies deny legitimate claims as they know many patients will never appeal the denial even though there is a 50 percent success rate in appeals.

Below is the link to a powerful video called ‘Overturned”.

The video is about how one scrappy medical clinic in St. Louis is fighting insurance denials.

The practice manager, Julie Baak, is a fearless advocate for patients. When her appeals don’t work, she publicly shames the companies on social media.

Aetna has asked her to stop using TikTok, and Cigna has sent her a cease-and-desist letter.

One is Claimable, which focuses on autoimmune disorders and charges $50 for filing an appeal. Patients fill out a detailed questionnaire, and then AI propagates a letter to the insurance company.

The success rate of Claimable is about 85%.
