Parents are not giving up the battle for their kids in government schools, but they need the help of more politicians.
Local parents won an important victory when the Duval County Public Schools cut some ties with a pro-pornography group called JASMYN. But much remains to be done.
The abuse of children is supported by liberal Democrats and their allies in the Fake News Industry.
When parents succeed in getting books promoting pornography and hate removed from schools, liberals shout about “book banning.”
But when people stand up in school board meetings and read materials from those books, they are told to sit down and shut up because they are reading obscene materials – materials the board wants to allow young children to read.
Parents also are increasing their opposition to grooming children with “transgender” nonsense and other unhealthy practices such as allowing children to use bathrooms historically reserved for the opposite sex.
There are only two sexes – a biological fact that science deniers on the Far Left refuse to acknowledge.
Liberals call protecting children “authoritarian.”
The fight spills over into other areas. During a recent meeting at which Daniel Davis, a candidate for mayor spoke, his ties to JASMYN were challenged. The mayor has no authority over schools but parents are concerned about the political power liberal organizations may hold.
Outraged parents succeeded in moving the liberal School Board closer to the center during the fall election.
County Citizens for Defending Freedom (CCDF) and Moms for Liberty have been in the forefront of the battle to protect children. Under pressure from parents, the school district decided to cut some of its ties with JASMYN, saying, “The district simply cannot partner with the organization given their use of program materials that the district believes to be inappropriate for use with children.”
However, the school district continues to feature the JASMYN logo on its website. CCDF protested and was told by the school superintendent that “The district’s prior relationship with JASMYN involved the provision of services, not materials. The district no longer has a direct relationship with JASMYN for those specific services that were in the agreement. JASMYN remains a local organization that provides support and resources for the community, which is why they remain listed as a resource on the All in For All Students website.”
CCDF is asking members to attend Tuesday’s School Board meeting and protest this continued relationship the district has with JASMYN.
