WARNING:  A Parent’s Love is cut off by Clay County School Board

What would you sacrifice for your child? Would you sacrifice your job, your family, and your social circle removing yourself from everything that is your life as you know it. Do you love your child that much? I recently sat down with just such a parent, Bruce Friedman.

Mr. Friedman wants what is best for his child, so he packed up his family and made the more than 1000 mile trek from New York to Florida. Here he thought he would find an education system that aligned with what he wanted for his child. He has, sadly, discovered that pornographic material is available in the school library.

What does a parent do when such inappropriate content is available to their child? Go to the school, talk to his child’s teacher, or address the school board. Most adults would agree, or so one would think, that sexually explicit material is inappropriate for minors. So, Mr. Friedman decided to address the school board, and present examples of the obscene content.  We have included the examples here and give fair warning to the content.

When his turn to speak came up he approached the podium with his presentation containing the content currently present in the school libraries. He began with a disclaimer on the obscene context in the presentation, and almost immediately the school board cut off his microphone.

See video below and go to 30:31 to see how this concerned father’s mic is shut off.

How can one reconcile pornographic material present in a public school with Florida State Statutes forbidding pornographic material being presented to minors?

How can a school board silence Mr. Friedman due to content because it might violate law whilst at the same time conveying said content to minors?

These are questions all parents should be asking and demanding of their school boards.

Researcher and Writer Debbie a native of New York became a resident of Jacksonville via the U.S. Navy. After separating from the navy she worked for both Grumman Aerospace and later Northrup-Grumman Aerospace. After almost 20 years in the aviation industry, she went back to college to change professions. Going back to school as an adult that had lived all over the United States and abroad she had experience in culture and circumstance, which created an incongruity with the material being taught. At that point she began questioning the validity of the material and made the observation that to pass her courses she had to agree, at least on paper, with the material. She graduated about the same time as the Wall Street crash of 2008 and jobs were now difficult to find. So, with time on her hand she began to look into other areas to see if the incongruity existed outside of the college curriculum as well. This is where her mission for the truth began. Since then she has worked to get facts out to the public.
