Eye doesn’t have much to say about the debate last night between Daniel Davis and Donna Deegan because you do not need us to tell you who to vote for.
And you certainly do not need campaign consultants telling you how bad their candidate’s opponent is. Campaign consultants are the worst part of humanity in the world of politics. They have nothing to lose by shredding the truth about their opponent because they get paid whether their candidate wins or loses.
So – do yourself a favor and throw away all those mailers in your mailbox and turn off the commercials. Those consultants want to paint a picture for you because they believe you are easily manipulated.
Eye suggests you do your own homework on these two Jacksonville natives who want to be your Mayor.
Watch the debate. Seek a discerning heart as you listen to their words and watch their body language. They will tell you what you need to know about how they will govern. Look past the rhetoric and think for yourself.
Then pray about your decision and go vote on May 16.
