Finally! Washington Is Eliminating Pests… Just Not the Ones I Had in Mind

I have to admit, I got a little excited when I saw the White House headline:

“Eliminating Disease-Carrying Pests and Restoring Enjoyment of the Great Outdoors.”

For one brief moment, I thought maybe we were finally going to see some people in orange suits and shackles — particularly a few who have helped spread the disease of fraud throughout America.

But alas… wrong kind of pests. 😂

This executive order is actually about mosquitoes and ticks — and for those of us living in Florida, that is still pretty darn good news.

The administration wants to use new technology, better land management and other methods to dramatically reduce disease-carrying mosquitoes and ticks, with successful programs eventually serving as a model nationwide.

And anyone who has attempted to sit outside on a Florida summer evening knows this is a worthy cause.

So while it wasn’t exactly the pest-removal program I was hoping for, I’ll take it.
