What is the point of this coming Thursday night’s political debate between California Governor Gavin Newsom and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, hosted by Sean Hannity?
Could it be political theater for entertainment purposes only?
Or is Sean Hannity really interested in exploring state-level divides in regards to policy and governing philosophies?
Or maybe Newsom will be there to defend Biden’s policies that he mirrors in California?
Or maybe Newsom is setting up a play to run for President if Biden doesn’t?
What does DeSantis gain from this debate? Is it just another way to get his message out at another debate? Those other debates left us glum so maybe this one will do more to bring energy back to the DeSantis campaign?
Interesting to note is there will not be an audience because Newsom didn’t want one. Hannity let him have his way.
Hannity and Newsom have been “friends” since the days when Newsom was married to Kimberly Guilfoyle, a then reporter for Fox News and now engaged to Donald Trump Jr. (think on that for a minute).
One thing is certain – the winner in this debate will be Hannity. He’s expecting major viewership and he may be right.
At the end of the day – Sean Hannity is an entertainer and loves to be the one speaking. It will be interesting to see if he can shut up and let the “debaters” have their say.
Sean doesn’t handle others speaking more than him on his show so this should be an interesting night.
