Staunch Americans have reason to worry about the midterm election results.
Democrats now own the U.S. House and Senate, again. That bodes ill for fiscal responsibility.
Fortunately, America has President Donald Trump, who already has promised to exercise his veto.
The presidential veto is one of the ingenious checks and balances put into place by the Founding Fathers, who are hated and reviled by Democrats.
America can only hope that Trump is not assassinated. There have been several attempts already. At the same time, he needs to re-examine some of his more unpopular policies and curb his New York temperament.
Florida, at least, stood up for America. In other states, voters chose Democrats, socialists, Muslims and others do not represent the majority in this country.
We wouldn’t mention it but because the liberal media is focused on his skin color, we will note that the first Florida governor with black skin will be a Republican.
Also, the junior senator will not be a wacky socialist.
Lastly, Florida voters bucked Big Government by approving a major tax relief measure. Homeowners will get a five-fold increase in homestead exemption. All the usual trough-feeders tried desperately to defeat it but failed.
Curiously, Jacksonville voters voted to increase and decrease their property taxes at the same time. They favored non-school property tax relief but also approved an increase in school taxes – apparently falling for the fable that spending more money on education produces better education.
Republicans outnumber Democrats by 1.5illion voters in the Free State of Florida but remain about 7,000 votes behind in Duval County.
Turnout in Florida:
- Democrat Turnout Rate: 68.37%
- Republican Turnout Rate: 62.63%
- Other / No Party Turnout Rate: 49.87%
Two numbers for Duval tell a sad tale:
- 40 percent of Democrats voted
- 22 percent of Republicans voted
It may seem a small difference, but it means 10,000 votes.
There is only one legal way to win elections: vote.
